William Ackman
Founder and CEO, Pershing Square Capital Management,
LP
Bill Ackman is the founder and President of Pershing Square
Capital Management, a registered investment advisor with
hedge fund assets under management in excess of 3 billion.
Prior to forming Pershing Square, Mr. Ackman co-founded
Gotham Partners Management Company, an investment advisor
which managed public and private equity investments. Mr.
Ackman received am MBA from Harvard and a B.A. magna cum
laude from Harvard.
James Barrow
Principal, Large Cap Value & Mid Cap Value Equity
Portfolio Manager, Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss
During Mr. Barrow’s 46-year investment career, he
has worked as a securities analyst and portfolio manager
for several major institutions including Citizens &
Southern Bank of South Carolina, Atlantic Richfield, and
Reliance Insurance. In 1973 he joined Republic National
Bank of Dallas as a portfolio manager, where he worked with
Tim Hanley and John Strauss. He later was placed in charge
of the Employee Benefit Portfolio Group and was a member
of the Trust Investment Committee until the founding of
this firm in 1979. Mr. Barrow is the lead portfolio manager
for the Vanguard Windsor II and Selected Value Funds. He
graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS.
David Einhorn
President and Founder, Greenlight Capital
David Einhorn is the President and founder of Greenlight
Capital, a long-short value-oriented hedge fund, which started
with $1 million under management in 1996. Over the ensuing
years, Greenlight has generated greater than a twenty-five
percent annualized net return for its partners. Einhorn
is the Chairman of Greenlight Capital Re, Ltd. (Nasdaq:
GLRE) and serves on the boards of the Michael J. Fox Foundation
for Parkinson’s Research and Hillel: The Foundation
for Jewish Campus Life. Einhorn graduated summa cum laude
from Cornell University in 1991, earning a B.A. in Government
from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Karen Finerman
President, Metropolitan Capital Advisors
Ms. Karen Finerman has been President of Metropolitan Capital
Advisors, Inc. since 1992 when she co-founded the firm.
Prior to 1992, she was the Lead Research Analyst for the
Risk Arbitrage department at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette
Securities Corporation. Prior to joining DLJ in 1990, Karen
was a trader at First City Capital, a risk arbitrage fund
for the Belzberg Family. Karen received a B.S. in Economics
from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School
in 1987, with a concentration in Finance.
Karen is the Chairwoman of the Development Committee of
the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
and serves on its board. She is also a Trustee of the Montefiore
Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y. where she serves on its Investment
Committee.
Mario J. Gabelli
GAMCO Investors, Inc.
Mario J. Gabelli is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of GAMCO Investors, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange listed
company that is a widely recognized provider of investment
advice to alternative investments, mutual funds, institutional
and high net worth investors. Gabelli founded the firm in
1977 as an institutional broker-dealer. It has since grown
into the diversified financial services corporation it is
today. Gabelli is a summa cum laude graduate of Fordham
University and holds an MBA degree from Columbia University
Graduate School of Business, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree
from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
James Grant

James Grant originated the “Current Yield”
column in Barron’s before founding Grant's
Interest Rate Observer in 1983
He was a long time panelist on Louis Rukeyser’s “Wall
Street Week” and has appeared on 60 Minutes, CBS Evening
News, Nightly Business Report and Bloomberg TV.
James Grant is a sought after speaker on finance and American
history. He is the author of four books on finance and financial
history: Bernard M. Baruch: The Adventures of a Wall Street
Legend (Simon & Schuster, 1983), Money of the Mind (Farrar,
Straus & Giroux, 1992), Minding Mr. Market (Farrar,
Straus & Giroux, 1993) and The Trouble with Prosperity
(Times Books, 1996). A fifth book - John Adams: Party of
One, a biography of the second president of the United States
- was published in March 2005 by Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
Mark L. Hart, III
Corriente Partners, LP
Mark L. Hart, III is Founder, Chairman and Chief Investment
Officer of Corriente Advisors, L.L.C., an SEC-registered
investment advisor in Fort Worth, Texas. Corriente has more
than $800 million in net assets under management through
various vehicles including Corriente Master Fund, L.P.,
a global macro hedge fund, European Divergence Fund, L.P.
and Corriente Biotechnology Partners, L.P.. Mark is responsible
for all investment decisions for the firm and is actively
involved in the trading of its portfolios. Mark is also
Co-Founder and Co-Manager, along with Kyle Bass of Hayman
Capital Partners, L.P., of Subprime Credit Strategies Fund,
L.P., which was launched in September 2006.
Mark's fifteen years of experience primarily encompass
hedge fund management and securities analysis. Prior to
forming Corriente Advisors in 2001, Mark was a founder,
principal and managing director of Tarpon Advisors, Inc.,
a hedge fund manager in Dallas, Texas. Before he joined
Tarpon Advisors, Inc., Mark was a managing director with
Culmen Group, L.P., a Fort Worth, Texas investment firm.
Prior to joining Culmen, Mark was an analyst and then an
associate in New York and Beverly Hills with Bannon &
Company, Inc., an investment banking firm founded by former
Goldman, Sachs & Co. bankers.
Mark earned a B.A. in the Plan II Honors Program from the
University of Texas at Austin in 1994.
Michael F. Price
President, The Price Family Foundation, Inc. and Managing
Member of MFP Investors, LLC
Mr. Michael F. Price is the President of The Price Family
Foundation, Inc., Managing Member of MFP Investors LLC,
and Director of Liquidnet Holdings. He also serves on various
Boards for The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, University
of Oklahoma Foundation, Johns Hopkins, and Jazz at Lincoln
Center.
Michael was Chairman of the Board of Franklin Mutual Advisers
and Franklin Mutual Series Fund. He has been associated
with both entities and their predecessor organizations since
1975. At that time, the adviser was known as Heine Securities
Corp and the fund was Mutual Shares Fund. Michael was Vice
President of the fund from 1975 until 1986. From 1986 until
November 1, 1998 he was CEO, President and Chairman of the
Board of the adviser and the fund, which came to be known
as Mutual Series Fund.
Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in 1973 from
the University of Oklahoma. In 1999, the University of Oklahoma
honored him with a Doctor of Humane Letter.
Edward W. “Rusty” Rose, III
President and Owner, Cardinal Investment Company, Inc.
Mr. Rose currently serves on several Corporate Boards,
such as Protex International, BearCom Inc., LBJ Asset Management
Partners, and Reata Pharmaceuticals. Presently, he is Lead
Director of Drew Industries, Inc. out of White Plains, NY;
a diversified business including ownership of an aluminum
window manufacturer.
Rusty is also involved in many civic activities in Dallas,
which include Chairman of the Board of the Cornell Lab of
Ornithology, The Salesmanship Club of Dallas, Director of
Contact Dallas Telephone Counseling, a former trustee of
the Texas Nature Conservancy, a former Director of the Girl’s
Adventure Trails, former Chairman of the Board of The Greenhill
School, and an active member of Highland Park Methodist
Church. Rusty and wife, Deedie, have been actively involved
in the Arts in Dallas, specifically the Dallas Museum of
Art.
Rusty received a degree in Bachelor of Engineering Science
from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business
Administration from Harvard University. He lives in Dallas
with his wife Deedie, and has two children.
Gretchen Morgenson
Assistant Business and Financial Editor, The New York
Times
Ms. Gretchen Morgenson has been Assistant Business and
Financial Editor and a Columnist at The New York Times since
May 1998. She covers the world financial markets and won
the Pulitzer Prize in 2002 for her "trenchant and incisive"
coverage of Wall Street.
Gretchen began her career at Vogue magazine as an Assistant
Editor in 1976. By the time she left the magazine in 1981,
she was a writer and financial columnist. She has filled
the roles of: Assistant Managing Editor and Investigative
Business Writer and Editor at Forbes magazine, Press Secretary
for the Forbes for President Campaign, Executive Editor
for Worth magazine, Staff Writer at Money magazine, and
Stockbroker for Dean Witter Reynolds in New York from 1981
to 1984. While serving as the Investigative Business Writer
and Editor at Forbes magazine 1986 to 1993, she broke the
story of anti-investor practices on the NASDAQ stock market
that was followed by Justice Department and SEC investigations.
Born in State College, Pennsylvania, Ms. Morgenson received
a B.A. degree in English and History from Saint Olaf College.
She is the author of Forbes Great Minds of Business, published
by John Wiley & Co., in 1997 and co-author of The Woman's
Guide to the Stock Market, published by Harmony Books in
1981.
She is married, has a son and lives in New York City.
